About Us

Scottish Social Services Learning Network West provides a forum to enable workforce learning and development, which is a key contributor to improving services in order to better meet the needs of service users and carers. We work in partnership with local agencies and stakeholders in the West of Scotland to support social service workforce development at ‘grassroots’ level.

We have agreed national aims and outcomes with the Scottish Government and the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). We implement the national aims through facilitating and supporting local structures and ways of working.

In order to meet the needs of the Social Services workforce we have developed Local Learning Networks across the West of Scotland; there are nine Networks from Argyll and Bute to Dumfries and Galloway.  To find out more about how to become involved please contact julie.thomson@westlearn.org.uk
